Understanding IPv6

This session is aimed at those who have little or no knowledge or experience with IPv6, yet are keen to understand the ins and outs of the protocol and gain a foundation of knowledge for more advanced IPv6 topics and technologies. The session will start by looking at  Why IPv6 then take you through the various IPv6 address types and packet header format which differentiate it from IPv4. The session will then touch on the role and need for ICMPv6 and how Neighbour Discovery is conducted within an IPv6 enabled network. Additional concepts such as address provisioning (including schema), DHCPv6, routing essentials and the role of DNS will also be covered. The session is for network architects, network engineer and network operators who are interested in the next version of the Internet Protocol
